This is Andy Cabic. I first met him at Dunes, a now pretty much defunct nightclub in Northeastern quadrant of Portland, Oregon. At the time he was playing bass guitar in the band Tussle, a band that I had been listening to for some months previous and had really enjoyed. Andy had written me an email introducing himself two nights prior to the show and had signed it with something along the lines of "I hope this email reaches you in good spirits", which had a very real and pleasant effect on yours truly. It did reach me in good spirits, and I think that this closing line had at least some part in it.
I'm the kind of person that thinks a lot about how I can effectively and positively effect a person through interaction as subtle as an email signature, so I feel like I have a long overdue thank you for Andy Cabic. Thank you, Andy Cabic. I think that I'm going to practice my closing lines from here on out.
