Diane Boyd Schultz founded the Midwest Flute Festival in 1997. She has also given clinics at Minnesota, Texas, and Illinois Music Teachers Association Conventions and at many universities and music festivals. She has presented masterclasses and concerts for the British Flute Festival, the Florida Flute Fair, the Flute Society at St. Louis, and the Mid-South Flute Festival. She has been a member of the summer faculty of Interlochen and Blue Lake Fine Arts Camps, and her articles on pedagogical topics have appeared in Flute Talk, Instrumentalist, and Pan. Presently, she is Professor of Flute at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. Diane Boyd Schultz is a Yamaha Performing Artist and plays a custom Yamaha YFL-984D. Philip Dikeman is the associate Professor of Flute at The Blair School of Music and was a member of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra for almost 20 years. During his tenure with the DSO, he held the position of Assistant Principal Flute, as well as Acting Principal Flute for his final two seasons. He also appeared as concerto soloist with the DSO on numerous occasions and took part in various tours to Europe, Asia, Florida, The Hollywood Bowl, and Carnegie Hall. Most recently, Dikeman was invited to be Program Chair for the National Flute Association’s Convention, to be held in Chicago in August 2014. Figures: 53-56 Plates: 15-16
